My City Points for Jumeirah Sirius members

My City Points is a rewards shopping service that allows Jumeirah Sirius members to collect Jumeirah Sirius Points when shopping at participating retail shops in the United Arab Emirates. This Service and the My City Points website that allows Jumeirah Sirius members to register for the Service and locate brand offers are provided by OnKard Ltd, a UK company that is certified within the standards of the Payment Card Industry as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council.

The My City Points Service is committed to protecting members” privacy and safeguarding their personal data. This Privacy Policy describes the types of personal information we collect and how we use the information. We also describe the measures we take to protect the security of the information.

What data do we collect from members?

The My City Points website provides Jumeirah Sirius members access to exclusive offers from our third party partner retailers ("retailers"). These offers are redeemable in-store and do not require members to do anything differently at checkout. All members need to do is pay using their registered Visa credit or debit card at a participating retailer. The offer is triggered automatically when their credit or debit card is registered with My City Points. Although members can browse through offers on the website before having registered, they must register a valid Visa credit or debit card on the website’s secure page if they wish to take advantage of the offers.

We collect data necessary to identify users as Jumeirah Sirius members so that we can award points to their account for the purchases that they make at one of our partner retailers’ locations. We also collect data necessary to make the Service fully functional and capable of allowing for future profile modifications. The one time registration process is simple: We ask for a member’s first name, last name, their email address, Jumeirah Sirius membership number and country of residence; we then ask members to create a password for future login.

In a second step, we ask members to register a Visa credit or debit card including the cardholder’s name as it appears on the card, the card number, the expiry date, and their mobile phone number. This is a one-time registration process and the My City Points Service will never charge their credit or debit card; the card number is only used to identify qualifying transactions at participating retailers in the UAE using state-of-the-art encryption technology.

On subsequent visits to the My City Points for Jumeirah Sirius website, the only information members will be asked to provide is their email address and password.

Members can register additional Visa cards or delete registered cards from their profile at any time following their initial registration. Please note that My City Points and OnKard will never request credit card information after the initial registration of a member’s card. OnKard does not and will not ever request member credit card information, their account login information, their passport information, or national identification numbers in a non-secure form of communication such as an unsolicited e-mail or telephone communication. Please beware of phishing attempts by third-parties.

How do we store the data?

When members register with My City Points, our system will create a unique account identifier for them, and the data collected at registration will be stored under that account ID in our secure PCI-DSS Level-1 certified database. Member data will be linked to this randomly generated unique ID and other encrypted information to allow us to identify qualifying transactions at participating retailers. Member’s credit or debit card number and personal data will never leave our secure database, only the random unique ID and encrypted values will be used to identify transactions and associate them with the respective Jumeirah Sirius account. We will not share any personal information or member’s credit or debit card details with any third party.

After members register their cards, all of the retailer offers visible on My City Points will be automatically linked to their My City Points account, allowing them to redeem whichever one of them they choose. The transaction data we receive from our participating retailers includes the name and location of the retailer, the date and time of the transaction, total value of the transaction, and the transaction ID, which is created as the payment is authorised. We do not have access to the details of members’ transactions, such as number of items purchased, price per item, or any other detail pertaining to their purchase. The transaction ID is collected to allow us to adjust award settlement in the case of returns or refunds. We use the brand data to calculate the points they will be awarded into their Jumeirah Sirius account, based on the offer that was applicable at the time of the purchase.

How do we use the data?

We use the information we collect to:

  • Identify qualifying purchases at participating brands
  • Create and manage member’s Account and reward them for qualified transactions
  • Notify members each time they earn points
  • Provide members with special offers from participating brands, and partners
  • From time to time, provide members with information about My City Points news
  • Operate, analyze and improve our business offering (including developing new types of offers, attracting new brands, improving the relevance of our communications, determining the effectiveness of our marketing, analyzing our Site and Services, and performing accounting, auditing, billing, and reconciliation.)
  • Analyse anonymised transaction data, perform accounting, invoicing, and settlement services for brands, prepare and furnish aggregated reports to brands and their payment or ePOS providers
  • Comply with applicable legal requirements and industry standards
  • Enforce our Terms and Conditions.

We need to be able to communicate with members to send them a reward confirmation message following a qualified transaction. We may also use this opportunity to inform members about special offers that might be of interest to them.

We do not sell or disclose any personal information. We do not use members’ personal information except as described here in. We will never communicate members’ names, contact information or other details to the brands from whom they make a purchase.

On our website, they may choose to use certain features for which we partner with other entities. These features, which include geo-location tools, are operated by third parties, clearly identified as such, and not affiliated with OnKard Ltd. These third parties may use data such as search and geo-location data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage members to read their privacy statements.

Receiving post transaction SMS or e-mail notifications of awards are an intrinsic component of the My City Points service and these may only be opted of by opting out of the My City Points service altogether.

Use of cookies

We may detect and use information about a member’s computer or smartphone, which may include the IP address, device operating system and browser type. This data is used to optimise the user experience and for system administration and on-going quality enhancement purposes. Cookies are also used to compile statistical data about our users' browsing patterns, but do not identify any individual.

Members may refuse to accept cookies by activating the setting on their browser, which allows them to refuse incoming cookies. However if members disable the use of cookies in their web browser, we cannot guarantee that the Service will be fully delivered, including the redemption of offers. Protecting member’s Personal Information

The security of members’ personal information is very important to us. We are committed to protecting the information we collect. We maintain appropriate administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information members provide against accidental, unlawful or unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, access, disclosure or use. We use SSL (Security through Secure Sockets Layer) encryption when transferring personal information from a web page to an application. In other words, the transfer of data back and forth between a member’s browser and our web server is encrypted. Members can recognize when SSL is active by looking for a closed lock icon that is usually located in the address bar of your web browser.

Accessing member’s personal information

Members can access their personal information by logging into the “My Account” page on the My City Points for Jumeirah Sirius website. Here members can delete their account, update their email address or mobile number, change their password as well as delete registered cards or register new cards.
